Embark on a classic racing adventure with the Cowes-Dinard-St Malo Race 2024, one of Europe’s time-honoured offshore sailing events, starting on Friday 5 July 2024. Drawing in a diverse fleet of yachts and a community of sailors, this race is not just about coveted trophies but also the challenge of navigating the English Channel and its unpredictable conditions.

Under the expert guidance of our seasoned Skipper and Mates, participants, regardless of their sailing background, will become integral team members. With the opportunity to experience a range of weather conditions, you’ll race past the scenic landscapes of the Isle of Wight, the enchanting Brittany coast, and ultimately arrive in the storied port of St Malo in France.

  • Professional Race Skipper and First and Second Mates, berthing and insurance
  • Branded Musto technical team top keep, and use of Musto BR2 offshore jacket and salopettes
  • All coded on board safety equipment including lifejacket
  • Food and soft drinks whilst on board participating in practical events

Itinerary

  • 0900 Arrival at Clipper HQ for briefing and  afternoon sail training followed by Dinner ashore (included)
  • Overnight on board in Gosport’s Premier Marina or Cowes Yacht Haven.  
  • AM Depart for the Race start.
  • 1050 – Race Start
  • Saturday 6 JulyDependant on weather we would usually expect a 24 hour race, however this may vary.
  • On arrival there should be time to enjoy the atmosphere in St Malo before returning to Gosport. 
  • Sunday 7 July – Return sail to Gosport
  • We have built an extra day into the itinerary to allow for any delays due to weather, so expect to depart the yachts no later than 1600 on Monday or Tuesday from Gosport’s Premier Marina.  

Who Can Enter

In order to take part in some sailing race events additional training and qualification events may need to be completed. Please make sure you meet the criteria listed within this section or contact the team for further information.

  • 1. This Cowes-Dinard-St Malo Race is open to all over 18s. 
  • 2. This event is open to individuals and group entries. Prices are per person.
  • 3. Previous sailing experience is not required for this race. 
  • 4. Book your place in advance to secure your berth.
  • 5. Add more miles to your logbook.
