Three days. Three destinations. One Clipper 70.

Designed for sailors who already have some on the water experience, Taster 2.0 gives you the chance to build your sailing hours, brush up on your skills and experience life on board a Clipper 70 racing yacht.

Whether you have already done our Taster Weekend, or Clipper Race Level One Training or other relevant qualifications, you’ll be ready to get involved in sailing from the moment you step on board. Working alongside our professional crew, you’ll build on what you know and put your existing skills into practice.

Over three days, you’ll be part of the crew that sails a Clipper 70 from Gosport to Poole and on to Cowes*. You’ll be sailing a yacht built for ocean racing, working together as a crew and getting a real feel for what it takes to live and sail on board.

A minimum of Clipper Race Level 1 Training or equivalent OR completion of a Taster Weekend on board a clipper 68 is required. Find out more details HERE.

Itinerary

  • 1700- Arrival at Clipper Training HQ in Gosport
  • Meet your Skipper and fellow crew before heading down to your boat to drop off your kit
  • Boat familiarisation and safety brief
  • Enjoy dinner and the opportunity to get to know your fellow crew mates
  • Overnight on board in Gosport’s Premier Marina

  • AM Breakfast on board
  • Overview on plan for the day before departing for full day sail on the Solent
  • PM Arrive in Poole, where you’ll enjoy an evening at your own leisure
  • Overnight on board in Poole

  • AM Breakfast on board
  • Head out for another full day on the Solent
  • PM Arrive in Cowes, Isle of Wight where you’ll enjoy your last night as you wish
  • Overnight on board in Cowes

  • AM Breakfast on board
  • After breakfast you will enjoy a leisurely sail back to Gosport, arriving around lunch time
  • On arrival back in Gosport, you will assist with a clean down of the boat before departing
  • Depart by 1600pm

Who Can Enter

In order to take part in some sailing race events additional training and qualification events may need to be completed. Please make sure you meet the criteria listed within this section or contact the team for further information.

  • Open to all over 18s.
  • Level 1 sailing course is required or equivalent
  • This event is open to individuals or groups looking for an unforgettable experience.
  • Book your place in advance to secure your berth.
  • Gain valuable experience or add more miles to your logbook.
